Spring 2026

Welcome! Thanks for visiting my website!

It's no secret my love of Scotland led me to write two novels based in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders, and to travel there whenever possible. The photo above was taken several years ago when we hiked up what's known as Arthur's Seat. It is an extinct volcano in the City of Edinburgh with gorgeous panoramic views from its 823 foot height. We've had the pleasure of being in Scotland in nearly every season and each is more magical than the last.

To recap the past few months, my normal pattern is to be quite productive with writing during the winter. This year, however, while I did make some progress on a few projects, a mystery illness kept me bed-bound for several weeks. Happy to report all is well and I'm excited about three endeavors I'm currently working on.

The first project is an eight-part series titled, "Writing Your First Book," designed to motivate and inspire would-be writers to become authors. I meet so many people who want to write a book, but find every excuse in the book not to. Here's your guide to get started.

It's available to read and download from the website - click on the book button below.

Check back soon to hear about the other two projects I have in the works!

If you are new to the website, I invite you to meander around and click on the typewriter keys below (top left corner for mobile). Captured Thoughts is my blog, where I share thoughts, memories and interesting ideas. The story about my grandfather is especially fun–he was quite a brilliant scoundrel, even had a patent with Thomas Edison. He was one source of inspiration for my first book, Window Friends.

At the request of some readers, I now have bookplates available to personalize and sign for those whose books I haven't signed. They are 3"x3" stickers you can adhere to the inside of your book. If interested, please send me an email, including your name and address and it will be my pleasure to mail it to you as my gift of appreciation for supporting my writing.

"In a world where you can be anything, be kind."

It occurs to me both the giver of kindness and the receiver are equally blessed.

As always, I appreciate your interest and would love to hear from you.

Be well, my friends!

A Charming Story...

the original

of a lonely American girl who moves to Great Britain and is befriended by an unlikely young Scotsman. Their relationship plays out in the beguiling

city of Edinburgh through an exchange

of letters until tragedy and life separate them. Fate, and perhaps the hand of God, reunites them as they meet for the first time face to face as adults- forever changed, yet forever the same.

"I just finished WINDOW FRIENDS and I absolutely loved everything about it. The story was well- constructed, wonderfully surprising, interesting and brought to life those charming Edinburgh streets..."
